there is something very appealing about coaxing fluidity and expression from rocks and glass, and assembling apparently unrelated pieces to form a single comprehensible idea.
my work, as well as work experience, is most harmonious to me when i achieve a sense of ordered unity from such chaos, and when i am in accord with seemingly rigid and unyielding base materials. may this harmony be reflected in my work.

a little about me...
i create mosaics from my home studio in tulsa, oklahoma, where i live with my husband, two sons, and our two lovely mutts, daisy and misha. i have been a stay-at-home, home-schooling mom for my sons since before they were in kindergarten. now, both sons are in college but still living at home. our adult daughter is a french language teacher at a local middle school. in addition to spending time with my family... and making mosaics of course... i enjoy photography and music... primarily classical piano.
i have been exploring the vast and versatile world of mosaic art since 1996. while self-taught in the earlier years, since 2006 i have studied with several highly accomplished artists, both in the states and in italy.
although i have worked with many mosaic materials over the years, i find myself preferring traditional smalti glass and 24kt mosaic gold, marble, stone, semi-precious materials, and beads. the majority of my artistic energy since 2006 has been devoted to cultivating mosaic fine art expression in my own unique voice. i am captured by line and pattern, more so than by curve and free form, and i seek to convey a sense of ease and harmony through the exercise of fine technique. i am inspired as much by the material as by the vision itself; indeed, the two are becoming inseparable to me.
in my portfolios, you will find representative examples of my work over the years of 1997 - present, with an emphasis on my fine art efforts since 2006. i hope that you enjoy viewing my work and that you are, in some way, inspired by my humble contribution to the expansive and dynamic art of contemporary mosaic.
