this photo shows before i used a cement colorant wash on the background and on the darker parts of the hair. the gray cement is showing in the darker smalti, and in the hair in particular, where my hammer cuts are lacking in precision.

also, there is a problem with the andamento on his right cheek, between the nose and the hairline right under the cheekbone. i did not notice this until the cement was dry. i tried to let it go, but just couldn't.
