this is my third piece in this series, and has five planes at three levels. i am very happy with how smoothly the process went for executing this piece. i am still refining things, trying to work out the best way for lining things up, placing the supports, and then putting it together.

i am trying to align the planes as exactly as i can, along the fuga lines. of course, because the gold is hand cut (producing variations in size and shape), this is a challenge. on the next piece, i hope to do a better job.

also, i have tried to align the planes' fugas with the fuga of the smalti background. i achieved this to high degree. the photo does not accurately reflect it, however, because of the close camera angle.
