i made this mosaic while visiting with my friend, ruth, in myrtle beach. we each brought along a very limited amount of material to share to create a small, spontaneous mosaic.

i titled it deviation because it seems so foreign to me. the colors, in particular, seem so odd... not like anything i would put together.

i started with the bottom line of lava rock, and worked my way up layer by layer. except for struggling with myself over the odd colors, i very much enjoyed creating this mosaic.
